Irene V. Copack, 78, of Orland Park, IL, passed away in Miami, FL, Wednesday, December 15, with her partner and family by her side. Irene was the beloved mother of Lisa Kuda and Valerie (Kuda) Bennett, loving grandmother of Alex Bennett, Iriana Gonzalez-Kuda, and Piper Bennett, dear sister of Marlene (Steve) Bennett, the late Michael (Judy) Copack, and Thomas (Virginia) Copack, cherished daughter of late Emily and Michael Copack; beloved aunt to Craig, Kyle, Michael, Ellen, and Diane; loving partner to David Hagen; dear cousin and friend to many; and all who will miss her deeply.Irene was enjoying her retirement from IEA/NEA where she worked for over 20 years. Travelling with her partner while seeing the world, visiting her loved ones all over the country, and hosting dinners for family and friends, brought her the most joy. She loved being surrounded by friends and family and made each one feel special. Her sense of humor, generosity, strength, willingness to help, and kindness of heart endeared her to all who knew her. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, from 11 am to 12 pm at Faith United Methodist Church, 15101 S. 80 th Ave., Orland Park, IL, 60462. A luncheon will follow the service. Masks will be required, regardless of vaccination status. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
