Thomas McBride Obituary

McBRIDE THOMAS HUGH
"GOOD TIME TOMMY"
Thomas Hugh McBride, 50, of Hazelwood died suddenly this past Saturday, September 1, 2007 while camping with friends. A good man with a golden heart, his goal in life was to make others happy. A husband, a father, a son, a brother, a grandfather, a godfather and an uncle and a friend to many. He will be missed tremendously and the thousand of memories will live in our hearts forever. He lived a fulfilling life and survived several tragedies. When life knocked him down, he got right back up. We always said he had nine lives but this last one got the best of him. A proud father and new grandfather, he looked forward to watching his grandson grow. He once said, "My grandson is the coolest thing in the world, his smile is like winning 10 million dollars." As saddened as we are by his loss, we are comforted by the spirit of his love, loyalty and friendship. Tommy McBride, one of a kind! We love you and will miss you more than anything. He is joining his father James C. McBride and father-in-law James Fitzhenry; leaving behind wife Marie Fitzhenry; daughter Tara; grandson Francesco Veltri III; mother Madelyn Schaffer; sisters Cathy (Tom) Lynch and Patti (Fred) Sciulli; brother Jimmy Pat (Cathy) McBride; mother-in-law Doralee; sisters-in-law Cindy Kelly, Murph Fitzhenry, Colleen (Mark) Ruby; brother-in-law JimBo (Shawna) Fitzhenry; 14 nieces and nephews; 8 great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOHN D. O'CONNOR & SON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5106 Second Avenue, Hazelwood. 412-521-8116 on Thursday 6-8pm and Friday 2-4 & 6-8pm and Saturday 9am before the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stephen Parish at 10am. We have established a charity fund in memory of Thomas. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to "Uncle Tommy's Wish Foundation" PO Box 5603, Pittsburgh, PA 15207

Uncle Tommy, you have been gone a year! It seems like yesterday that I saw you. I miss everything about you, your smile, your laughter and your JOKES. But most of all I miss you. The world is not the same without you. You did not get to meet Mya, but she will know all about her Uncle Tommy. You are sadly missed and loved by all.

Marie, Tara and Family

It has been a year since the Lord took Tommy home with him to live eternity. Not a day goes by that I do not think about and pray for him. He touched so many people’s lives especially our family. I am thankful for all the time he spent with my children Michael, Jason and Heather; they love their Uncle Tommy. I am thankful for all the time my grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and I got to spend with him also. He always had a special place in his heart for us. He always loved to have us up at camp and spend time with all of us. His memory will live on with each and every one of us. We all miss Uncle Tommy very very much. We must hold on to the truth that God Loves Us and We will see the face of the Lord one day along with all of our loved ones who past before us.

With Much Love

Marie and Family,
I will keep you all in my prayers.
Tommy was such a special guy.
Growing up with Murph and Colleen and always being at your moms house those are the times I remember the most about Tommy. So much fun.
When you and Tommy, Lisa and Danny moved in by the playground, so much more fun.
The beat up old van Tommy use to let us hang out in.
Then when I got older hanging out with you and Tommy going out dancing I'll always remember all the fun.
Marie if you ever need anything just call.
I will miss Tommy.
God Bless all of you.

I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who wrote in and thank everyone for your kindness. I also wanted to thank everyone who made my fathers funeral such a special day, even with all of the sadness. My father would have been proud. I always thank god for the family and friends that I have been blessed with, but after this whole ordeal, I have to say they really are the absolute best. I am truly grateful for all of their
help. Everyone pulled together and pitched in and that is what family is all about. Thank You So Much! I love you guys!!!

God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.

He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children, you're always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home

To the man who will continue to walk with us from heaven, as he did with his time here on Earth. We will never forget you. You will continue to live in our hearts, thoughts, dreams, and memories.
Everyone who knew you, was blessed with memories of joy, laughter, and pure happiness. For we all loved you, as you loved us back. You will continue to work your magic, for eveytime the sun shines, we will remember your smile. For everytime a bird chirps, we will think of you whistling or singing as you work. For every star we see shine at night, we will remember that twinkle that forever stayed in your eyes.
You were and always will be, a wonderful friend, a wonderful brother-in-law, and a wonderful uncle.
We love you, will miss you, and will never forget you!!!

I knew Tommy & Marie while growing up and hanging out on the corner of Mansion and Ashton in Hazelwood. Time has passed quickly and everyone's gone their separte ways, but when I picture him in my mind all I see is that great big smile and tanned skin and their dog simply named D-O-G. I hope that he's in heaven with my brother "Hardy" and all the others that have also gone too soon. I wish all his family peace.
