WALSH, Homerine "Marie"
Homerine "Marie" Walsh, age 71 of Enfield, died unexpectedly at her residence on Monday (September 23, 2013). Born October 10, 1941, she was the daughter of the late George and Gladys (Bishop) Violette. On July 29, 1961, Homerine was united in marriage to Joseph P. Walsh, who preceded her in death on February 21, 1994. Homerine lived in Enfield for majority of her later life and was employed for 26 years as a supervisor at Comasec before retiring in 2003. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and in her free time, Homerine enjoyed woodworking, interior decorating, painting and DIY projects from Home & Garden. Homerine leaves behind two loving children, her son, John Walsh of Wethersfield and her daughter Michelle Walsh of Enfield; her two grandchildren, Marisa and Matthew Nogas; five sisters, Sylvia Violette, Theresa (Levasseur) Corbin, Bonnie Violette, Jeannette (Levasseur) Jones and Bernadette (Levasseur) Wilcox; her twin brother, Homer "Mike" Violette; son-in-law, Steven Nogas; special family friends, Sharon and Nick Rizzo, along with many other loving family members and friends. Besides her parents and her husband, Joe, Homerine was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice (Levasseur) Flaherty and three brothers, Francis, George and Fred Levasseur.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 9 until 11 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Homerine may be made to the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center, Hartford Hospital Fund Dev., P.O. Box 5037, Hartford, CT 06102-5037.
