Born in Czechoslovakia on January 31, 1925, Mr. Jaeger was a Holocaust survivor who came to Chicago with his wife Rose in 1949. In 1960, he became a realtor and in 1970 co-founded the commercial real estate and investment firm of Jaeger & Jaeger Real Estate, Inc. in Deerfield, Illinois.
“My father was the embodiment of the American Dream,” said his son, Jerry. “After losing everything in the war, he and my mother worked to build a secure life for their freedom in America. His work ethic and positive outlook were a constant inspiration for his children and grandchildren.”
Mr. Jaeger was a longtime member of the (Januc) Korshak B’nai Brith and an avid supporter of Congregation B’nai Tikvah in Deerfield, the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., and the State of Israel.
He was the devoted husband of Rose; the proud and loving father of Jerry (Ann), Joseph (Dora), and Helen Jaeger-Roth; the adoring grandfather to Samantha, Veronica, Matthew, Ethan, and Lauren Jaeger; and the fond brother of the late Toby (Irving) Goldner.
