My condolences to the family of Herman, especially Christine whom I knew in childhood. I often followed Herman's stories on Kelly's messageboards on Classmates and thank Peter who alerted me to his recent death.

I have fond memories of sitting on the front porch of the family home on Maplewood Avenue with Herm and the rest of the family. Always lots of laughter! My thoughts are with you all. Herman will be missed.

I will never forget Herman. He is one of the finest people I have ever known and the best boss a kid could ever hope for! He definitely had a hand in shaping the person I am today. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I looked up to my cousin when I was a young and listened to everything he said. In particular, I remember watching TV in the dark with the family. Chomping on whole cucumbers and when he said to jump off a sand hill at 47th & Damen. It looked soft to me, so I did. I will never forgive him for that !!! The only time I remember that Herm would be cooperative was when he was asleep. Godspeed Herm, Your big heart will be missed.
