I met Henry when I was in high school and at first felt like an outsider since Henry had so many friends hanging out with him. Henry made me feel like an old friend very quickly. It was in his basement I learned the card game "man or mouse". He had a great (sometimes devious) sense of humor, but a warm and generous heart. He will truly be missed by all.
We will see each other again; probably at a card game. God Bless!

I was priviliged to work with Henry at GATX. He was the most gentle man I think I have ever met. We had some good times working together and it was always a pleasure to be in his company. My deepest sympathies to Henry's family. He was a truly good man and the world is lesser for his passing.

Henry walked into my backyard when we were 8 yrs old wanting to play baseball. Next day he came back with Johnny Eckhardt. Both are gone today.
If one was to look up the word FRIEND in the dictionary...Henry's photo would be there.
Never said to him what should have been said....love you Henry.
The CUBS are winning this year for you.

Henry was a childhood friend of mine since 6th grade at Sayre School. There isn't one memeory of grade school or high school that does not have Henry in it. I treasured his friendship and always looked up to Henry as we grew older. I was one year behind Henry in school but we remained friends through grade school and even after high school. I still have a hard time believing he left us so soon, quickly and with many memeories etched in our hearts and minds. I remember many times Henry would raid his parents walk-in cooler in the cooking area of Kwong Lee and would start cooking food for all his friends. If not for Henry I would never have had BBQ ribs in my life. It was with Henry and his talented cooking skills that I learned how to eat and acquire a craving for BBQ ribs.
God please help Henry's family and friends and guide us to your promised lands where we will once again reunite with Henry and please help us through the pain that we all have in our hearts and minds from loosing a dear son, golden friend, cousin, mentor, co-worker, brother, and companion. My deepest sympathy to The Chew Family in your loss.

Henry worked at GATX when I was there. He was the greatest guy. There are so many of us that remember him quite fondly. A number of us have touched base because of his untimely death. We will really miss him. He was the most sincere and straightforward type of guy with a great sense of humor. He was just the greatest. We will all miss him. He really never had a bad day. Joey, he spoke so frequently of you. I hope you can find some solace in the many people who are grateful for the way he impacted our lives.

Henry was a childhood buddy. We both attended Sayre School. For years, I considered him to be a best friend. I used to sleep over at his home. His parents and sisters were all so kind and loving. It felt almost like a second family. I remember once, I helped the family make egg rolls. We had plenty of good times together. Henry's father, Kent, had once given me a little statue. I still treasure that gift because it is a reminder of a wonderful time in my life.
Henry and I drifted apart, but he was an intregal part of my youth, my life.

I was so saddened to learn of Henry's passing and extend my deepest sympathies to Henry's parents, siblings and Joey. Henry and I worked together for over 15 years at GATX Terminals and he was my colleague and friend. We kept in touch for a few years after Terminals" but, unfortunately, lost touch. But I thought of him many, many times over the years when his birthday rolled around and wondered how he was doing. He always remembered my birthday and never failed to leave a card on my desk or send one. He was an extremely hard worker and completely unselfish. When I had problems with my stomach, he always had a vial of these really awful "magic" pellets that he kept in his drawer for me...I had to swallow the whole mess of them with a full glass of water to get them down! And, of course, they worked! As I answered the phone for our department, I got to know Mr. Chew, Colleen and Joey. Again, please accept my sincerest condolences for the loss of your dear Henry. He will be missed by so many people whose lives he touched.

I was very shocked and saddened to learn of Henrys passing. Henry was a good friend from high school days. He was always fun and upbeat to be with. We laughed a lot together and had good conversations. I regret not being able to meet up with him again to chat about the old days. He left us far too soon. My most heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Chew family and all of his friends. I wish you great strength during this very sad time. My prayers go out to all of you. May we find peace with the good memories we all have of our son, brother and friend, Henry.
