Henia Swistak-Aviles, age 73, passed away peacefully on Monday November 11, 2024. Henia was born on March 04, 1951 in Brussels, Belgium. Beloved Wife of the late Monserrate (Fred) Aviles, the love of her life. Adoring daughter of the late Piotr Swistak and Jadwiga (nee Hauptamnn) Swistak. Adoring Sister of the Zbigniew "Zbiggy" Swistak, Vietnam War Veteran. Devoted Mother of Lenea M. (Michael) Smith, Dionna L. (John) Rilling, Edward P. Piotrowski, and Catrina M. Greer. Loving step-mother to Cynthia D. Camacho, Yolanda A. (James) Barbosa, Julia A. (Joseph) Davies, the late Anthony V. Aviles. Proud Grandmother of Monika, Luis, Gabriel, Amber, Eddy, April, Johnny, Joseph, Anthony, Adrian, Emilo, Eli, Meelo, and Amaya. Cherished Great-grandmother of Kayla, Isaac, Isaiah, Albert and Julian. Loyal companion of her cat, Puposz "Lola".
Henia lived a life filled with kindness, compassion, and generosity. She was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to helping others. Henia will be remembered for her infectious laughter, quick wittedness, and unwavering positivity. She leaves behind a legacy of love and a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She had a deep love for nature, spending countless hours tending to her garden, where her green thumb brought beauty to the lives of those around her. She also found joy in caring for birds, squirrels and rabbits in her yard. A kind-hearted soul whose love for life and all creatures big and small knew no bounds. Henia will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her presence.
A visitation for Henia will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646. A Chapel Service will follow at 12:30 PM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home.Interment at Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, IL. For further information, please call Malec and Sons Funeral Home at 773-774-4100.
