Helena Karkoszka Obituary

Karkoszka, Helena "Helen" Age 85, of Waterford, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at her residence. Helen was born in Poland on September 23, 1926, to the late Antoni and Marcelina (nee Nikorowski) Gilewski. On January 29, 1946 in Germany, Helen was united in marriage to Zygmunt Karkoszka. Survivors include her loving children, Henry (Kathleen) Karkoszka, Christine Anderson, Joseph (Jinny) Karkoszka and Diane (Chad) Thorstad; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Malec Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL, on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM. They may meet again on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 9:00AM at the Malec Funeral Home to leave in procession for the church for services. To the Karkoszka family. There are no words of wisdom at a time like this. I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know her real well but the few times I spoke with her at various family functions she was a delight. I will certainly remember her in my Sunday mass prayers.
