Ostrander, Helen Florence at rest October 15, 2008, "101 year Old Party person, Lifetime Chicago Cubs Fan, alive for the Last World Series win in 1908". Beloved aunt of Marge (Fred) Ludwig, Jane Vodicka (nee Ostrander), Joel (Fran) Ostrander, Patricia (Bernard) Hronek, John Ostrander and the late Dorothy Anne Ostrander. Well loved great-aunt of Fred, Kathleen, Anne, Julie, Emilie, Bill and Lisa, cherished great-grand-aunt of 9 nieces and nephews. Friend to many. Preceded in death by parents, Joel and Margaret, brother, Joel, and her sister, Dorothy, to whom she extended her unconditional Love. Visitation Tuesday, 4 to 9 p.m. Prayers Wednesday, 9:15 a.m., at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western Ave., Chicago, to St. Jerome Catholic Church. Mass Wednesday, 10 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Memorials to St. Jerome Church, appreciated. Funeral inquiries: 773-561-6874

Through her energy and humor, Helen brought such life to our family; I feel lucky to have been a part of her life for 36 years. A brief anecdote to illustrate her thoughtfulness: the day before she passed on, my husband and I received a card from her to congratulate us on our 4-year wedding anniversary. We should all be so lucky to live to Helen's age and remain actively engaged in living and loving.

We were so sad to hear that Aunt Helen had passed away. Our children, Kyle and Sarah, had a wonderful conversation with her on the phone just 2 weeks ago. Aunt Helen always remembered to send a card to everyone on their birthday, anniversary etc.. She was such a lively person who would always make us smile and laugh. She will be missed, but always remembered. We will keep your family in our prayers.Love, The Swenson Family
