To Aunt Gayle, Aunt Louise, and all of Great Aunt Vi's descendants,

I am so sorry for the loss of Great Aunt Vi. The "Great" applies to her personality as well as the generations. She was so Gregarious and fun to talk with that she made me feel close instead of distant. I liked her stories of the Blank family in Chicago and also enjoyed hearing about how her father played football for the Bears in 1924. We had talked about the Bears just before the 2006 season and she had a sparkle in her eye when I asked how would they do that year. Her life will be celebrated when people remeber how she made us feel.

To all my "chicago family" The loss of my dear friend Vi means that I am the only one left of that gang, including Uncle Dick, My Nick, Ma, Sister Suzie, and all the others. Though I will miss her so, she is very lucky to have gone so quickly, hopefully without pain and is now resting comfortably with them all. Love to all, Mary DiMarco

To Mama and Papa Schwarz, Jody Schwarz, and Tracy, John, Ian, and Johnny Morser:

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Your grandmother was a wonderful lady - so proud of her family and fond of life. She always had an opinion or a story to tell. Every time we met, she welcomed me with open arms, a wide smile, and a warm hug.

While I won't forget her presence at important events (be it an Illini game at Tracy's house, a garage sale, an outdoor festival, a birthday party, a backyard party, or a block party, or even dinner at a restaurant for Tracy's birthday), I will treasure most my very last encounter with her: We were in Tracy's kitchen, and Grams gave me a big hug, and she was sitting contently and reading all the star magazines - we talked about the latest Hollywood gossip - it was so much fun, and I won't forget it!

I still can't believe how suddenly this all happened. I am in shock as I know you all are.

Again, you all are in my thoughts and prayers, and I extend my love and support to you now and always.
