Hedwig Weyand Obituary

Hedwig T. "Honey" (Terry) Weyand, age 91, of Erie, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Millcreek Manor. Born December 26, 1922 in Erie, she was daughter of the late Paul Terry and Kay (Wedzik) Lick.

Hedwig worked in the accounting department for many years at the Times Publishing Company, until her retirement. She was a longtime member of St. George Roman Catholic Church. As a resident of the Heritage Apartments, she enjoyed playing cards with her dear friends.

She was very well known for her pies and had an amazing sense of hospitality and everyone was always welcome in her home. Above all else, she loved spending time with family and her grandsons were truly the light of her life.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Weyand, in 2001; and two brothers, Alphonse "Bud" Terry and Edwin Terry.

Survivors include a son, William Weyand, wife Julie, of Erie, and two grandsons, Louis and Luke Weyand.

Friends may call on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard. Services will be held there on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. George Church at 12 Noon. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
