I’m sorry to hear that Grandpa Nelson passed away. I really enjoyed the time I got to spend with him. I remember him as being a kind and intelligent man. Even though he knew a lot, he was stile eager to learn more. Ryan and I had to go and set up his DVD player so that he could watch his new calculus DVDs, it was exciting to see how much he still enjoyed learning. Another fond memory I have is eating breakfast with him on Sunday mornings at the Marengo café. I will keep the memories of Grandpa Nelson inside my heart forever. He will always be my American grandpa. I know he will be missed by many and my thoughts are with his family.

Dear family Nelson
Your relatives in Sweden and Gotland share your grief of Harvey. We are happy that we had the opportunity to meet Harvey and Gloria a couple of years ago in Marengo. Also Sven, Harveys cousin, from Visby came to visit and met Harvey for the first time. Sven was 83 years at the time and even if they couldn´t speak each others language they understood the meaning of the conversation. We agree that Harvey had a dry sense of humor and it was fun to be together with him. We will never forget when we walked the fields of Marengo together with Arlette to meet Harvey and Gloria at the Marengo café. It must be a great loss when Harvey is not coming there anymore. Today you are in our thoughts, your roots in Sweden.

We will miss you Uncle Harvey. Our hearfelt sympathies are sent to Aunt Gloria, who we love very much. And to all his family who I know loved him so much. He was a wise and loving man, with a great sense of humor. His life enriched us all.

Harvey's life was truly a model for everyone who knew him. His love for Gloria, his children and family and friends was always obvious. He sure did enjoy telling a good story to get your mind off life's little problems. Harvey was a inspiration to all who knew him. We will all miss Harvey, our good friend.

God Bless the Harvey Nelson's in this world because they have made it a better place. Mr. Nelson was a great family man, a loving husband and a wonderful human being. I remember him as a good listener and very intelligent man and he never had a nasty word to say about anyone or anything. He was a true gentleman,a kind man and I am going to miss him.

Harvey
was the best father-in-law a person could have. His insights on life
were always on the mark, and he set a fine example for his
grandchildren to follow. He always lit up when seeing his family. The
love of his life, Gloria, will miss him deeply. The two made one. If
only everyone had a marriage where "respect" wasn't just a word, but a
way of life. He had such a dry, clever sense of humor that made you
think twice about what he said, and then think, "Wow, how funny!" He will be
missed, by not just by family, but his many friends.

Harvey was one of the coolest older fellows I had the pleasure of knowing. I know he will be missed by many. My sympathies to the Nelson clan.
