Stawarz, Harriet J.

Harriet J. Stawarz, 96, of Ottawa, passed away peacefully January 22, 2021 surrounded by her family. Service will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Wednesday. Burial will be private. Harriet was born March 20, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of John and Agatha (Kulenski) Brniak. She married the love of her life, Casimir Stawarz on May 15, 1948 in St. Roman's Church. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1995. She is survived by three children, Darlene Brown of Ottawa, IL, Casey Stawarz of Ottawa, IL, and Shirley (Patrick) Kush of Holt, MO and four grandchildren, Joseph (Jenny) Kush , Juliann (Joe) Diaz , Valerie Kush, and Adam (Desiree) Kush. She is preceded in death by one sister, Louise Hasek. Harriet was a member of the Ottawa Garden Club. She enjoyed working on crafts and loved watching The Price is Right. Harriet was a world traveler making it to Europe and Africa. She was an avid exerciser and even belonged to Donovan's in her 90's. Most important to her was spending time with family and her grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be directed to Pet Project.
