Dad,
As time goes by and as I go through your belongings, I find peace and am able to reflect on the things that you did for everybody. You had a tough life, one that was not as rewarding as you deserved. I have learned a great deal more, of what kind of a person, a man you really were. You are a hero. Not just for the mere fact that you served our great country and received many awards, but because you gave yourself, your time and energy into helping others in many different ways. Yes, I have learned a lot these past several months, and I only hope that I could be at least half of the man you were!
I miss you and love you so much and I wish I would have said it more often.

Coach, I wish I could remember more from my St. Al's days but my favorite times are always basketball; You gave me more than just memories, though. I'm a better woman because of what you taught me (on and off the court) and that is something I can never forget.

Coach Harry, you were such an amazing coach. Every time I came to play, you'd always have a smile on your face and a deep love for the game. You always encouraged players to achieve greatness. With Sparks, you brought together rival schools, that played "Together as One." :) and in doing so, you help create new friendships and challenged girls to perform at their best. I will never forget those memories of basketball under your coaching.. Rest in Peace.?

To My Dear Friend, Harrence! You will Always be in my memories of which I have so many of you...we have so many pictures of you as well to look at often! But when I think of you this is who you are to me and always will be...blonde hair, beautiful friendly smile, happy guy, always ready to talk, always ready to listen, always ready to help in any way you could. You were a true gentleman! You always made me feel liked, you always made me feel comfortable, you always showed us how you loved our family, how you cared about us, how you knew my sister, Mary, who you went to school with, always showed us how great a father you were, and ready to be that father, that leader, to any child looking for direction or just a kind hand to help them or show them some attention. You were a leader in all ways ... a person who gave of yourself to make life better for others, to care about and help build youth to be the best they could be. You, Harrence, gave your all every day to everyone who came your way. And it was kind of funny that I gave you the name of Harrence as I always had given my sons nicknames when they were growing up and Rick too...but you were the only other adult I gave a nickname to...it just fit..Harrence..that was you to me! Well, we will never forget you and will keep you in our thoughts always...we promise to care for your beloved Dave and his family...as you would for our sons. Harrence, God bless you and watch over you always...keep everyone smiling ...cause that's what you do best! Love you Harrence! Love, Kathy

Dave

Dear Harry, Thank you for being such a good friend and such an inspiration to so many of us. It didn't matter how old a person was or male or female. You were a Leader in so many ways, not just in Basketball. You were the type of person that we should all strive to be. Harry, you always made it a point to tell Me and Kathy how much you loved our kids. There are so many people that felt your love and gave it right back to you. I want you to know that you leave behind a Great family that will always remember you. Your Players, Your Scouts, Your fellow Coaches, and your friends will carry the memories we shared with you forever. Don't worry about your family because you raised them right. They will be under our wings. I Love You Harry and I'm so proud to have called you my friend. Rick King

Dave and Kristen - We are so sorry for the loss of your dad. Although we had never met him, through you he was family. Hi Harry, I'm sorry it took so long for me to write to you. I want to thank you for being my Cub Scout leader; for teaching me how to play basketball; for coming out last summer to see my band play; for inspiring so many young people throughout your lifetime. Thank you for playing some of your songs to me and for sharing your poetry. Thanks for your jokes and off beat humor, you always made me laugh. Thank you for being a loving Grandfather and for being a great Dad to my best buddy, my brother from a different mother, Dave. I love you and will miss you. I have learned even more about you now that you've left. You have inspired me to constantly do my best with my teaching and coaching, even when I'm not feeling up to it, because you may never realize who's life you may touch.
