Harold Lichterman Obituary

Without you, I would not be.
They say there's much of you in me.
Your spirit lives throughout each day,
As I ask myself what would He say?
It's been a year since I heard your voice.
In death, they say, we have no choice.
The circle of life is often sad,
But I'll always remember and love you, Dad.

For: all who care and remember:

".........it seems just like yesterday," he always said. "And, you know what ................."

All those near and dear to him know the missing punch line - kinda how we all feel today, and yesterday, and probably even tomorrow.

When all else is gone, 'thanks for the memories' says it best, as they're all that's left.

Dear Gerry,
It will be one year tomorrow that my best friend left. I know how much you miss him, as I do.

I have joined the water ski club in Libertyville and it takes a lot of my time. Hal would have enjoyed the atmosphere because he mentioned some of the people who aremembers. He couldn't believe that they could win National titles and live in the Midwest.

Hope everything is fine with you and your family and that work is
good and keeps you busy.

Hal was a real gentleman and I know he loved you Gerry very much. I consider him a mentor in business and a friend in life. He is truly missed.

Mark, Lenny & Nancy - I remember you so well and your dad - Mr. Smitty - meant so much to me. I can't tell you how many times I've thought about him and you over the years. I learned so many new things with you & your dad ncluding learning how to waterski - (read, gulp gallons of water). He was an incredible man and we were blessed to have him as long as we did. I am so deeply saddened to hear the news of Hal.Even tho we haven't seen one another in such a long time,I remember the many good times we shared. Hal was such a dear, sweet man and a real gentleman. The COPD community is very saddened by Hal's passing. His advocacy and commitment opened new doors for COPD patients. Our patient group, COPD-ALERT, offered him support and encouragement in his very difficult struggle with the disease. Rita and I are very happy that we had a chance to experience your hospitality last June in Chicago. We had a great time and we hoped to meet many more times in the future. We join you and the entire family in this time of sorrow.

Hal was a mentor to me and my colleagues. A soft spoken highly intelligent man with a good word for everyone. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Mark, Lenny and Nancy - Just heard about your dad and words can't describe the deep sadness I am feeling. We had a wonderful friendship years ago that I have always cherished.I would occassionally hear about yourlives and was thrilled that you were all doing well. He was truly special - a treasure as a father, son, brother and as a friend. I never have and never will forget

Hal was a man who was worthy of the respect he was awarded by his family, friends, and collegues. He was an extraordinary person that will be sorely missed by all of us who knew him. His accomplishments are the things legends are made of. It was my privilege to have called him friend.
