Dr. Herbert Lippitz, Orthodontist
May 25, 2022
I remember your family with whom I had the privilege of being Harold´s Orthodontist. My office was in Chicago on Western Av. and you lived in Skokie (?). I remember you and your lovely mom. I have treated 1000´s of patients but there are some who stand out. I know that you have been gone for many years. I found your name in the US Holocaust memorial booklet of the searchers of lost passengers that were missing after the catastrophe of the ship, "St. Louis" during WW II. Since my wife´s untimely death last month I spend some time searching through my memorabilia and the Kaluzna name prodded my memory. Another name, Harlan Abbey, was a schoolmate of mine at Robert Emet School on Madison and Central in the 1930s-40s. I pray that the Kaluzna clan is thriving. Is plumbing still a family business? I wish you well, and you are who I think you are, my blessings for pleasant memories.

Dear Larry and Andee:
I will never forget that your father came by to "say goodbye". I think it was a couple of months ago. He was happy. How many of us could be so brave? A great smile on his face, as he told me how lucky he was to have so many loved ones in his life. And then he mentioned everyone by name, your mother, your step-mother, your children, and both of you. I tried to tell him he would be fine, but he smiled, with that twinkle in his eye said goodbye - and to be well, in english and yiddish.
Your children were wonderful in recalling their memories of their grandfather, and you should be proud of the respect and love learned in your home. My best wishes to you and your wonderful family for better days, and blessings.
Your dad was a wonderful man, but you know that in so many ways. Seeing all your family friends today...there were tears and laughter, but mostly affection for someone we will all miss.

Dear Larry, Andee, Jeremy, Myles and Carly,
Our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to all of you. Your dad/Grandpa was a special man who will never be forgotten. He had such warmth, strength, vitality and a great sense of humor and love. He was one of a kind and will be missed. We know he and Larry had a special bond - not just as a father and son, but as best friends too. That is hard to come by so cherish all of your memories and share them often.
Our love to you all.

Dearest Barbara and Family
We were saddened to hear from Judy and Nate about Harold passing so soon after we had the privilege of meeting you on the Celebrity Millenium Cruise this past fall.
We have remarked to many friends about the great good fortune we experienced to meet both couples at our table, as well as our new English friends Peggy and Christine.
We do cherish the many interesting conversations and laughter we shared each evening.
As we think back on the discussions of Harold's and Nate's business endeavors, there is no doubt that we will think of Harold and his special pride in Larry's high-end Waterware Luxury Plumbing and Hardware business.
This will be reinforced with every purchase and decision we make as we actively renovate our own bathroom this year.
Our kindest regards go to you.
Thanks for the memories.
Sincerely
Barbara and Ted Bergey
