I was a caddie at Oak Park Country Club throughout the 1970's. I had the opportunity to caddie for Mr. Snyder on many occasions, as well as Mrs. Snyder and sons Alan and Bill.
The Snyder family was always very good to the caddies, both in treatment and in compensation. Caddying for the Snyders was always a prized loop. I even had the privelege of caddying for Mrs. Snyder when she got her Hole-in-one on No. 17 in 1971.
The great memory I have is the annual Men's Invitiationals that were organized by Mr. Snyder in the 1970's. The entire event was top notch and the entertainment was incredible.
I will forever be indebted to Mr. Snyder and his family for the generosity they have bestowed on the caddies over the years, particularly their generous donations to the Evans Scholars Foundation. Both my brother and I were blessed to receive Evans Scholarships that allowed us to attend college and go on to great successes in our lives.
Thank you to Mr. Snyder and his family for your kindness and generosity.

Working for Mr. Snyder was a great opportunity for me. He was a quiet man who always passed along the credit for his success to his employees. He will be missed by all who had the good fortune to meet him.

For the family and friends of Mr. H.K. Snyder:
"H.K." strongly defined roles throughout the span of his many years. Among those many roles, he most strongly defined the role of a dedicated family man, the role of an innovative manufacturing leader, the role of a creative industrialist, and the role of a long time student of golf and a fierce competitor of the game. Mr. Snyder cut a wide swath through any difficulties and he made the solutions work and prosper. And he was tireless in the pursuit of his vision. His passing leaves a void in the lives of those he touched; his passing brings a sad interlude to the busy days of our own lives.
May he rest in deep peace; may he be at eternal rest....
