Your Mom was always kind toward me. Hard to believe it has been 10 years. Please know that others are remembering your family.

Please accept my condolences. I knew your Mom to be a loving & compassionate lady. I recall her coming to LaGrange by herself when I was in Job's Daughters. May your family & memories give you some comfort at this time. If you have an extra memorial card, I would appreciate having one. Sincerely, Michele

My Dearest Aunt Gracie,
You were always a strong force in my life. You and your sister (my Grand Mother Dell) were the glue in this family. You were bigger than life and always the keeper of our family past.
It was you who played such a large part of my mother’s early 6 years of her life and at just a mere 11 years older than she, your visits to the orphanage after the 1929 crash to see her and coddle her were so fondly remembered by my Mother (Louella). It was you that my mother turned to for comfort most. I am so blessed to have been given the knowledge of our family past that even Hollywood would envy your story and your history. What may seem unremarkable to some who know your life’s story, a story of epic proportion lay hidden and fondly remembered. You have lived and endured hardships never seen by generations who have come after you, only to stand stronger and wiser than most that have faced similar. You were a pillar of strength to your immediate family and of ours. I will sorely miss the dear conversations we had and the knowledge you have bestowed on me. I only wish you were here while I fight a battle of my own.
I know all too well the pain of loss. I am very grateful that God saved for you an easy passing. I will truly miss your wisdom. This world has lost a true custodian of rich and very cultured history.
To Michael, Joan, Rich, Michelle, Christina and little Richard, my heart goes out to all of you. I am sorry I can’t be there but my heart and sole are with you. I know I will see my Aunt again. You should know you will too. God bless you all.
