Gordon Kelly Obituary

Kelly, Gordon D. Age 78, of Peotone, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Presence St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, IL. He was born April 30, 1936, the son of the late Everett and Rose Kelly. He was a retired from Illinois Bell/ATT after 38 years of employment. He was a US Army veteran and member of the Peotone American Legion Post 392. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Peotone and the St. Paul Knights of Columbus. He formerly owned and operated Kelly's TV repair in Peotone. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs and Bears and NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports. Gordon is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Manes) Kelly, who he married on November 3, 1962 in Glenwood, IL. He is also survived by four children, Harold Kelly of Matteson, IL, Debbie (Randy) Johnson of Peotone, Catherine Cline of Davis, IL, and Anthony (Angela) Kelly of Homewood, IL; five grandchildren, Allie Johnson, Abby and Courtney Cline, and Quinton and Noelle Kelly; and a sister, Kay (the late Larry) Bangs of Hilton Head, SC. Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone on Monday, October 6 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone on Tuesday, October 7 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Peotone Cemetery. Memorials to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (J.D.R.F.) or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
