Spolar, Gloria (nee Kritzer), age 78, lifelong resident of Lyons, IL, at rest December 22, 2008, beloved wife of the late Paul Sr., loving mother of Rose Marie, Teresa (late Billy) Johnson, John (Patsy), Paul "Isaac" (Shirone), Michael (Erica), and Patricia (Ron) Penn, cherished grandmother of Jorie, Wade, Elizabeth, Crystal, Monique, Kristen, Haley, and Emmett, great-grandmother of Selena, Dennis, Dakota, Ashley, Jonathon, Emily, and Amber, devoted daughter of the late John and Anna Kritzer, who immigrated from Istria, Croatia, fond sister of John (Delores), Emil (Nancy) Kritzer, and Annie (late Wayne) Kwiatkowski, aunt of Mark, Nicky, Erica, Jessica, Matthew, Amy, Phoebe, Michelle, and the late Becky, many cousins, god-children, other relatives and good friends. Funeral Services Monday, December 29, 2008, 9 a.m., from Tower Home for Funerals, 4007 S. Joliet Ave. (but not Joliet Rd. - between Harlem and First Ave., just South of Ogden Ave.), Lyons, IL. 60534, to St. Hugh Church for 9:30 a.m. Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. Past president and active member of St. Hugh Society of Catholic Women, voted Woman of the Year, 2001, organized hooligans, childrens' games for St. Hugh X-Mas Bazaar, and Mission Bunko card parties for many years. Member of American Legions Women's Auxiliary, Downers Grove Unit, ACCW, Slovene National Benefits Society, Lyons Senior Citizens, former Girl Scout Junior Troop Leader #183 and was involved in many other local community organizations. Worked for Electric Motors, McCook, Plant and Papermate Pen Co. Graduation Class of 1948, Nazareth Academy H.S. Loved cats, music, and garage sales, reading mysteries and romance novels, a slot machine winner, and a Thursday night Bingo player. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 9 p.m. Info: 708-447-7900
