Late night grocery runs, birthday parties, church functions, shopping, talking on the phone all hours of the nights, traveling out of town, you name it Glo and I did it. Why? because we were BESTIES , BFF, GIRLFRIENDS , PARTNERS IN CRIME, but most of all we were sisters. We met in fourth grade at Edward Jenner Elementary and I looked at that short bowlegged girl and said with my Tall skinny self," I want her to be my friend" , and friends we were. We sang in the Tommies (Milton Brunson's infamous , world renowned Thompson Community Singers) We did not miss a beat. We stayed young as much as possible. We had fun, good clean fun. We always, always kept in touch. Although I moved away, I saw her 3 days before she closed her eyes for good. We talked about plans to visit our old church Union MBC on the near north side of Chicago. 3 days later I got the call that my dear friend and sister was gone. I miss that girl, but I am so happy that we shared our lives. Cherish your friends and family.I am so happy that Glo knew and loved Jesus. Vernice shared with me that Gloria would always say that she was blessed. Not in a bragging way, but in a way that she knew and loved a savior that loved and kept her safe for 65 years. Bye girl , I'll see you in the morning, because I too know your friend and saviour Jesus.
