Gertrude Goin Swelnis (nee Tomaszewski), age 72 of Hobart, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009 at St. Mary Medical Center. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Catherine Tomaszewski; son, Robert Goin. Survivors, 2 sons, Michael (Sonhui) Goin of Schererville, Greg Goin of Gary; 2 daughters, Melanie (Rob) Demosse of Gary, Christine Swelnis of Merrillville; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother, Leonard (Bernice) Tomaszewski of Gary; many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit from 2 p.m.- 8 p.m. Sunday at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland St, Merrillville. Prayer Service 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service 9:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark Church with Rev. Pat Gaza officiating. Burial in St. Jacob Cemetery, North Judson, Indiana.
