Geraldine Austgen Obituary

Austgen, Geraldine "Gerry" Anne age 66, passed away at Ingalls Hospital in Harvey, IL, on January 1st, she was a resident of Park Forest since 1995, formerly of Chicago Heights. She was the beloved mother of Jean (Mark) Brown of McHenry, IL, Thomas (Kristie) of Matteson, Daniel (Lisa) Tobin of Chicago Ridge and Julie (Jose) Trevino of Park Forest, dearest sister of Berthran "Bud" (Marjorie) Sweeney of Jensen Beach, FL and proud grandmother of 11, loving grandchildren. Gerry was preceded in death by her beloved late husband, John D. Austgen (1994) and her two late sisters, Jeanne Keegan and Catherine Witry. Gerry retired in 1999 from Rhodia Chemical Company (formerly Stauffer Chemical), having served 30+ years as a Secretary for the Plant Manager. She was a 1955 graduate of Longwood Academy of Our Lady in Chicago. Visitation is Sunday, January 4th, from 2 to 9 p.m., at Hirsch West End Chapel, 1340 Otto Blvd., in Chicago Heights. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 5th, at 10 a.m., at St. Iraneus Catholic Church, 78 Cherry St., Park Forest. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
