Father Gerry, seeing the picture of you in what looked like a workshop, reminded me of your days at Queens where you frequently put on your tool belt whenever something needed your expertise. I will never forget the time we pulled nearly an all nighter starting after evening devotions and finishing around four in the morning installing a new main electrical panel in the sacristy. Peg, our four daughters and I appreciated you being at Queens. God bless you for not only being a wonderful priest but also St. Jospeh the Worker for QAS.

"Big Gerry" was an important part of my young adulthood at St. Edwards. Whether he was taking us to handball, laughing with us at teen club, canoeing in the Quetico, or going to hockey games with Fr. Lenahan, he gave us all a positive role model. His laughter and big voice was always booming in the background. On our canoeing trips to Canada he gave us opportunities to grow in confidence and deal with physical, challenging adventures. Attending outdoor Mass in the Northwoods said on an overturned canoe, gave me a completely different perspective on Faith and has remained an influence in my life. He married Judy and I, and my memories of him continue to influence my faith life. Thanks Big Guy for all you did for me and the other kids at St. Ed's. I hope you're sitting around a warm campfire with a "Quetico screwdriver" in hand planning tomorrow's portages. God Bless you and welcome you home.

"Big Gerry" was such an important part of my young adulthood. Playing handball, hanging out with the teen club, canoeing in Canada, going to hockey games with Fr. Lenahan, Father Mulcahy, was a positive influence on my spiritual life as well as becoming a young man.
He was always a positive leader and on the canoe trips he helped us all become more confident and independent. Attending Mass outdoors in the Northwoods, offered on the bottom of an overturned canoe, brought my view of faith a different perspective. He married Judy and I, and his role model has always been an influence in my life. Thank you Big Guy for all you did for us as we grew up. Hope you're sitting around a warm campfire with a "Quetico screwdriver" in hand planning tomorrow's portages. God bless you.

God Bless you Father, you were in our parish and at my parents house for dinner more than once at parties. You played Handball with my Father many a time. Rest in Peace Father, you will be missed by all you served at St. Edward Parish in Chicago - NW side of the City - in Mayfair. To your family God bless all of them, and sorry for your loss.

My favorite memory of you will always be when you sang happy birthday to me at a school board meeting. That bellowing voice and Irish brogue. I'll also miss your homilies, they really made me think. Thank you for everything you did. I know your job was not always easy! Rest in Peace - Till we meet again!
