I worked for Jerry at MCI in the early 80's. For many months we drove to work together downtown to and from Evergreen Park. My thoughts and prayers are with Jerry's entire family. Jerry was truly a great man and mentor in my career. Sincerely, Wally Czmiel.

To the family of Gerald
I would just like to say how sorry i am for your loss. Words cannot express how sorry i am, i truely mean this. i am a student of Ed Giermak at SXU, and when he told the class, i felt nothing but sorrow for the family. My mother died over a year and a half ago, and one thing i will never forget was she always told me "Tell me something good." that taught me to concentrate more on the good things then the bad, i hope it can help your family. A friend also told me that a person never dies as long as they are remebered. i took that to heart. so never forget Gerald, for he will never forget any of you. it will always be sad, but saddess does lead to happiness. i know this for certain. again i am very sorry for your loss. please know that from the bottom of my heart.

My thoughts and prayers are with Janine and family. I worked with Jerry at ACI at Ameritech and he was currently consulting with us at ServiceMaster. It was just short 3 weeks ago that he was here at our offices. He truly was a wonderful person: friendly, caring, always going out of his way to stop by and ask "how are you doing". Please know that he will truly be missed. There are many friends here that are mourning his loss.

Dear Giermak and Habschmidt Family,
It is with such sorrow that I greet you. I am so sorry that I will not be able to attend the wake, where I would be able to hug you and share your grief. Jerry was such a special boy. I remember his beautiful smile, happy demeaner and warm love for all around him. It is with disbelief that I read that he is now with God. Your family is such a special one to me. May each of you find comfort in the wonderful memories you have of Jerry, and may our Lord and Savior grant you strenghth. Please know that my prayers and love are with you.

Our hearts go out to Janine and the kids. Jerry was one of the greatest guys I've ever met. I hired Jerry at GD Searle and I knew from the moment I met him that I would not only hire him but that he would be a friend for life. 23 years later, words cannot express my grief at the loss of Jerry.
