GERALD BUSH Obituary

Gerald J. Bush WYTHEVILLE, Va. Gerald J. Bush, age 77, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013. He was born on February 11, 1936 in Harlan, Ky., the son of the late Hubert Bush and Thelma Bellamy Bush. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Denver L. Bush, Hansford R. Bush and Mildred J. Bush. Gerald was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served with the 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg, NC and the 11th Airborne in Germany. He also proudly served in law enforcement as a policeman in Washington, D.C. Gerald was a graduate of American University in Washington, D.C. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Anna Osborne Bush; son, Robert E. Bush of Vass, N.C.; daughters, Katherine A. Skeen of Abingdon, Va., and Jane L. and Chris Stevens of St. Paul, Va.; step-daughter, Teresa and Stimis Smith of Salem, Va.; step-son, Paul G. Wirt of Springfield, Va.; grandchildren, Brandon L. Ingle, William Skeen, Victoria Skeen and Travis Skeen; step-grandchildren, Madison Wirt, Jared Wirt, Annalise Smith and Harrison Smith; sisters, Patsy J. Glovier of Tampa, Fla., Lestrice "Les" A. and John Thomas of Marion, Va., Sheron and Jim Schweiger of Forest, Va.; brother, James R. and Linda Bush of Bristol, Va.; aunts, Ruby Grigsby of Georgia and Juanita Childress of Texas; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rae Mullins and the Rev. Don Stansell officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time at the church. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at Temple Hill Cemetery, Castlewood, Va., with the Rev. Jerry Estep officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the VFW, Disabled American Veterans and Virginia National Guard.
