Beloved husband to Merle Benson (nee Seidler); loving father to Derek Benson, Hillary Benson, Elin (Roy Jr.) Beard, and Amanda Benson; cherished grandfather to Shane and Roy III; dear brother to Robert (Eva) Benson; dear uncle to Carl and David (Conchita) Benson; beloved great-uncle and friend to many. Visitation 4-9 p.m. Friday, May 24th at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 N Western Ave. Chicago, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25th. Interment Rosehill Cemetery. Such nice words have been said about Gerry, it's no wonder why he was loved so much. Gentle, kind hearted, fun and loving. He was a great man and we will all miss him dearly. We love you all, and will keep all of you in prayer.
