George Stathakes Obituary

Stathakes, George Andrew Age 84, of Franklin Park, died peacefully at his home on December 21, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (Ranallo) for 60 years. He is the loving father of Lynne Wellin (Herman) of Fuquay Varina, NC and Susan Stathakes, of Franklin Park, and proud grandfather of Melissa Wellin, of Raleigh, NC and Alexander Wellin, of Fuquay Varina, NC. He is preceded in death by his parents, Isabel and Andrew Stathakes, and his sisters, Constance and Rosalind Stathakes. He was son-in­law to the late Ben and Mary Ranallo, and a cousin to many. Growing up, he and first cousin Frank Bonelli were as close as brothers. He was brother-in-law to the late Bill (Catherine) Ranallo. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is a World War II Veteran of the United States Army and a 55 year member of Local Union #134 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Visitation Monday, December 26, 2011 from 3-9 p.m. at Cuneo-Colombian Funeral Home, 10300 W. Grand Ave., (one block east of Mannheim Rd.), Franklin Park, IL. Prayers Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. from Cuneo-Colombian Funeral Home, to Francis Borgia Deaf Center Catholic Church, 8033 W. Addison, Chicago, IL. for mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst. 847-455-1200 or cuneocolumbian.net
