Parents: the late Dewey and Lorena Hill Rathbone

Background: Native of Haywood County he retired after 25 years from the Highway Department for the State of NC and was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church

Preceeded in death: parents and one brother Johnny Rathbone

Surviving: wife of 52 years, Geraldine Rathbone of Waynesville and one son Gary Rathbone of Decater, AL; two brothers Matthew Rathbone of Arizona and Mark Rathbone of Haywood County; two sisters Lucille Allen of Valley Park, MO and Gerty Mae Beasley of Waynesville; and one grandchild

Funeral Services: will be held Thursday, June 5, 2003 at Garrett Funerals and Cremations Chapel at 1:oo PM

Visitation: will be held from 7 to 9 PM Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the funeral home

Officiating: Rev. Billy Ferguson and Rev. Ronnie Green

Burial: Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery

Pallbearers: Howard Messer, Robert Messer, Winford Messer, Jerry Messer, Clifford Messer, Jeff Messer, Bill Lynch, and Bobby Cogdill

Garrett Funerals and Cremations is in charge of arrangements
