My deepest condolences to the entire family, friends, and anyone who may have crossed paths with this great man. Being George's oldest friend, his dad was like a second father to me.
George and I used to walk to kindergarten together, hang out at the fire station, progress from bicycles to mini bikes, to motorcycles, get in trouble together, party together, and work out together religiously. We even smoked our first cigarettes together on his roof, after stealing them from his sister. We've been friends for about 53 years. That's some history together. We've never lost contact, and still keep in touch all the time.
All of our friends considered Mr. Neuhaus as the super dad of all of our dads. Always friendly, smiling, and whisleing with a toothpick in his teeth, a cold beer in his hand, and arms like a Sherman tank. His love for Jane, his family and life was immeasurable.
He will be truly missed.

Being the son of a former Evanston firefighter I grew up having the distinct pleasure of knowing George and his family. I will always remember him for his larger than life personality. Hanging out at fire station #1 and up at Fox Hills Golf Resort. Laughter and jokes were his makeup. He will truly be missed. My heart goes out to those who mourn. He is in good company now with many of his good friends like my father. With sympathy, Curt Brandt

George was a great friend, firefighter and business partner with my Dad and Mom. George was always bigger than life, fun, and with the best laugh. I'll never forget the childhood fishing and hunting trips we took together. As kids we would go to the Medinah Shrine Circus every year together. George was a hardworking and dedicated Evanston Firefighter for a long time saving many lives. He also built an amazing business through hard work and dedication. We will all miss him.

Jane and George were old Evanston neighborhood friends. I think most of us from Evanston considered them more family than friends. I have wonderful memories of all the golf outings, dances, parties, and dinners out. George seemed to be around when anyone needed help. He was a lot of fun. George will be missed.
