George Green Obituary

Green, George "Stardust" 83, was called home to his Lord, March 11, 2007 in Henderson, NV. He passed away due to heart failure. George was born September 6, 1923, in Chicago, and lived in there for 59 years. He had one of the greatest voices to ever grace the stage, and is known throughout the world. He was a lifelong Charter Member of the Chicago Federation of Musicians and among the first African-Americans to perform in South Africa in 1967 during Apartheid. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. George was preceded in death by his daughter, Yolanda Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Shirley L. Green; daughters, Carolyn Green of Chicago, Trina Bullitt of Chicago Heights, Veronica Moorhead of Henderson, NV; and sons, George L. Green of Los Angeles, Kenneth, Joshua and Byron Green, all of Chicago, and William Green of Cary, N.C.; and 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Memorial at 5 p.m. Monday, March 26, at Resurrection United Methodist Church, 5717 W. 63rd St., Chicago. Family requests donations be made to Green Valley United Methodist Church: 2200 Robindale Rd, Henderson, NV 89074.

...You may have remembered the movie "Driving Miss Daisy"....well there's no one better that I'd rather drive around town than you! I will really miss our conversations and your heartfelt advice.
