George Graham Obituary

George W Graham, of Carrollton, beloved husband of Betty J (Aston) Graham of 68 years, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on April 16, 2013 at 90
years old. He was born August 13, 1922 and was the son of Theodore and Morvith (Webb) Graham . He grew up in Camden, NJ and was on the high school wrestling team which has become a five generation family tradition.

George and Betty were introduced to each other by their respective mothers,
Morvith and Bronwen and were married one year later on January 27, 1945.

George proudly served in WWII with the US Army. He was a Staff Sargent stationed
in Italy. He was honorably discharged in 1946, receiving five medals. Upon his discharge, he pursued his career as an Industrial Engineer after
graduating from the Pennsylvania State University. He joined CBS Records in New Jersey in 1961, transferred to Connecticut and then Carrollton where he continued his career with CBS/SONY until his retirement.

George was an excellent marksman, showing off his skills in target and skeet
shooting. He participated in Civil War reenactments and in many national
tournaments. He was also a licensed firearms instructor and certifier.

George was a 32 degree Master Mason and a Member of The Royal Scotland.
He served on a number of town boards here in Carrollton and was an avid
volunteer over the years including Tanner Hospital and ushered with Betty at the
Fox Theater in Atlanta.

George and Betty loved to travel and saw the world together, making many new
friends along the way. He was a devoted member of The Carrollton First United
Methodist Church since moving to Carrollton. He lived life to its fullest,
completed his bucket list, had a wonderful sense of humor and cherished time
spent with family and friends he so dearly loved. He will be greatly missed.

Along with his wife Betty, he is survived his children Sherrie and Richard Monticello of NJ, Debbie and Henry Kellner of CT and G. Scott and Carmen Graham also of CT. He has six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, and
many special friends who he considered family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday April 25, 2013 at the Carrollton
First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends in the Gathering
Room from 1:00 until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Humane Society, The
Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.

Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
