George Flanagan Obituary

Flanagan, George Francis of Pearl City, IL., formerly of Franklin Park, IL., passed away at Rockford Memorial Hospital, April 19, 2002. He was born March 23, 1936 in Chicago, the son of George Charles and Lillian Leona (Swalley) Flanagan. He married Judith Lynn Nuti July 22, 1961 in Chicago. George was employed by Jewel Food Stores for 35 years. He is survived by his wife, three sons, James (Lorrie Ann) of Schaumburg, Timothy (Lori Beth) of Carol Stream, Matthew (Nicole) of Elgin, one daughter Joanna (Michael) Ammer of Huntley; six grandchildren, Nicole, Nicole, Stephany, Tyler, Michael and Tiffany; two sisters, Betty (Joseph) Tunkl of Chicago and Shirley (Vince) Monteaux of Mercer, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Daniel. George was a member of the IFCW Union and enjoyed spending time on amateur radio. Private services will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elmwood, IL. George served in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956.
