I worked with George at the
Federal Courthouse in Hammond, IN.
George was a great co-worker. My
biggest regret is I did not maintain
contact with him after he left.
Our lives become so busy that we
take our friends for granted, until
it is too late.
I hope that George enjoyed life
after he left the courthouse until
his untimely death. I know this is a
huge loss in Jelalyn's life, and I hope
she finds peace.
George was such a lover of animals,
which speaks volumes about George's
character. Rest in peace!

Everyone at the Highland Animal Hospital knew what a great fellow George was, and how much he meant to Jeri. To all George's family and friends, sincere condolences.
May the Good Lord shine a light on you!

I transferred from District 3 to District 4 in the summer of 1981. The supervisor asked for someone to pick me up for a ride-a-long for a couple of days and show me the district....veteran Trooper George Fitzgerald came in to the post, introduced himself and said, "come on kid, I'll show you around". We laughed, ate good and worked well together for those two days. The years passed, we worked together on the same platoon for years......you were a stand up guy, good back up, a friend to all of us, one of the best of District 4....a real District 4 Trooper!! Thank you George.....you will be missed.

The best time of my life as a cop was working with George in B.A.T.U.
Team mate, partner, friend and great cop. To all of George's family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I now have another ally sitting by God's side. Thank you Lord for George Fitzgerald.

Warm Summer Sun
Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.
