George was a constant in our lives. The kind of guy that you counted on. Friday night pizza, followed by hours of conversation on everything from our kids to politics, usually started with a joke; “There were these three Irishmen…” always making sure I was paying attention before going on. He had an opinion about everything and if (when!) we disagreed, he could back it up with facts and details that just left one asking “how do you know that? How would anyone?” He sat at our table holding court with all his ideas on how to end the war, fix the economy, and who the Bears needed to trade. He knew so much about so many things and always ended these conversations with that smile saying “...and that is why I should be in charge.”
There are no doubts that we loved you, I know you knew that. But did you know how much we needed you? How much we counted on you? You left us so suddenly that the reality of your being gone has hardly set in. But this much I believe (and if you were here we would argue this point) you are up there now with the rest of our families, telling those same old jokes and having one hell of a time. More than anything know this; one could not have asked for a better brother. You were the best God father/uncle, friend, teacher, advisor, co-conspirator and our all around go-to guy. You may not be here physically anymore, but you are everywhere we look. You will be missed forever. You will be loved always - so keep things up there running smooth, until we meet again.

I do not even know where to begin with my Uncle George. He left us so fast that it has taken a little time to process everything. He was an unbelievably great uncle even though at times he made me want to pull my hair out! He could argue just about anything and would usually win if I did not stand up and walk away first. He was always up for a good joke, a game of scat and pretty much the only person Nellie would allow into our house. Our family was truly lucky to have had him in our lives for as long as we did. Angie and Brian were very lucky to have him as a dad and my dad was lucky to have him as an older brother (even though Uncle George swore he was younger!) I know he is up there looking over each one of us and I am grateful for that. He will be missed.

I was very fortunate to have known George for the relatively short amount of time that I have. Being close to Angie meant being close to George and to Brian. Quite an intimidating task for a newcomer! The bond between he and his children is one that all fathers should strive to achieve and has been a source of inspiration for me. Over the past 6 years, both he and his family have welcomed me into their lives and I cannot express with enough emphasis my sincere appreciation. George meant, and will continue to mean, a great deal to me and will always remain in my thoughts. The commonly heard “you better take care of my sweetie” will not be forgotten. Don’t you worry George...I will.
I hope that everyone that reads this page will take a moment to share a thought, a funny story, or a way that George has touched their lives. The memories and life experiences help celebrate the life of an amazing man!

I worked with George in the Patrick Mfg. facility many times. I appreciated that I had to prove to him my skills and knowledge. He helped show me how to treat customers and proved to me that honesty always wins. I will truly miss working with him and hearing his words of wisdom about the manufacturing world. Our business and products are better because of him.
