We were very surprised and upset to find Gary's death notice while searching on-line. While we lost touch with Gary several years ago we always thought of him as a friend. Our sincere condolences to his family. Ira and Roberta Fertel

I hadn't seen Gary for over 20 years and when we reconnected several years ago it was as if we had always kept in touch--Gary remembered all the details from our school days and wanted to know everything that had happened since. That's just the way he was. His loss will be felt in a wide circle. My sincerest condolences to Shirley and Jack and all the rest of the family.

To the Heller Family-
I saw Gary's obituary in the paper and wanted to send my condolances. My prayers are with you. I used to live across the street from then growing up in Skokie. I have many good memories of spending time at their house-I was always welcomed.

Gary and I were both recruiters. To a certain degree we were competitors.I never felt that was true though. Gary was always reaching out to offer any help he could on anything from computer problems, long distance carriers information, or potential candidates.
Gary was a true giver in a profession of loners and sometimes sharks. I would never question his bussiness ethics, they were solid.
He was always calling to touch base and see how things were going. We would cheer each other up through the ups and downs of being a self-employed person.
Gary was simply just a really nice great guy.
The world will miss his simple giving and trust that he had in the world.
I know that his family also was very important to him and he would talk about them quite a bit.

I will miss Gary very much. He was a good friend through the ski council and a good advisor for me when I started my business. Gary always shared his entrepreneurial insights and business experience - always had an idea or advice, and I very much appreciated his mentoring.
Gary was quite active in the Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council and I reflect back at the impact he had in always wanting to make a better organization, which included teaming up with Rex Diamond to create our first website. To the best of my knowledge, Gary held the following positions in CMSC, and was anxious to be active again this year:
98/99 - Marketing/Internet
96/97 - Trip Referral/Marketing
95/96 - V.P. Public Relations
94/95 - V.P. Public Relations
93/94 - Regional V.P.
I will miss our philosophical debates, business and ski council discussions, and most of all the friendship we shared. I miss you Gary and I wish your family peace and God's blessing.
