Gail A. Fischer, age 86 of Wheeling. Beloved wife of the late Edward "Babe" Fischer for 38 years. Loving mother of Jeff (Terry) Fischer, Laura (John) Klein, and the late Eric (Kim) Fischer. Cherished grandmother of Ken and Amie. Adored GG to Gus, Madison, Peyton, and Edy. Dear sister to the late Dolores (late Robert) Peter. Sister-in-law to Rosemarie (Rich) Butterworth and Sandra Fischer. Loving aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Gail and I have been lifelong friends since 8th grade at Lincoln School when I was the new kid, and she showed me such kindness and quickly became my best friend. I never forgot that, and we stayed friends the rest of our lives, although separated by a couple of thousand miles. (I live in Oregon.) I knew her parents and her sister Delores. I was a bridesmaid at her and Babe's wedding. I will love her forever and cherish our memories. My deepest condolences to her family. May she rest in peace.
