Fritz Laroche Obituary
Laroche M.D., Fritz age 85, of Chicago (formerly of Hyde Park), passed away May 16, 2009 at his home. Dr. Laroche was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was a Pediatrician since 1956, serving many Chicago area hospitals. He led his life as an example for others to emulate his humility, honesty, integrity and thirst for knowledge. Dr. Laroche is survived by his wife, Ninette Joseph-Laroche; step-children Marie-Rose (Jonathan) Hagerman, Emmanuella (Anthony Chapple) Joseph M.D.; grandchildren; sisters Janine Vaval and Irene Laroche; also many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by countless friends. Visitation Friday 6 to 9 p.m. at Michalik Funeral Home, 1056 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL. Family and friends will gather Saturday, at St. John Cantius Church, 825 N. Carpenter St., Chicago, IL., for a 10 a.m. funeral Mass. Entombment at Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, IL. Before he was my stepdad, he was my pediatrician. I am glad he was a part of my life.

Dr. LaRoche was my doctor in his early years -- I was born in 1956 - and he cared for me into my teens. I remember his caring touch as a doctor and the many house calls he made because I suffered with asthma and eczema. I am now an ordained minister and have used him in many illustrations through the years, remembering his commitment and kindness. The medical profession will miss this gem of a man! My prayers are with his family he leaves to cherish his memory.

Dr. LaRoche was a great and caring doctor. He took care of my health from birth through High School as if I were family. I have yet to experience the care he showed all his patients in a general practitioner.

Dr. LaRouche was my doctor from the time I was born in 1965 until I was about 14 years old. I have never been afraid of shots because he was so gentle. I remember him making housecalls back then too. He was the best.
