Frederick J. "Fred" Smith, 76, Vietnam Army Veteran, beloved husband of Jacqueline "Jackie", nee Jarosz; loving father of Sandra (Nicola) Merenda, Jennifer (Jamie) MacBain and Cheryl Dusza. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Jonathan, Michael, Madison, Kelsey, Freddie, Logan, Katelyn and Kyle. Dearest brother of Barbara (late Ronald) Butzen, Janice (late James) Richardson, Daniel (Priscilla) Smith and the late Judith ( Patrick) Brosnan. Dear brother-in-law of the late Robert (Mary Jean) Jarosz. Fond Godfather, uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Visitation Tuesday, March 23, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at COLONIAL-WOJCIECHOWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 6250 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago IL 60646. Funeral Wednesday, March 24, starting with prayers from the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., going in procession to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Church, (old St. Tarcissus Church), for 11:00 a.m. Mass. My good buddy from High School. He was my locker partner for four years at Lane Tech. Many fond memories going back to grammar school. I didn't even know he was in Vietnam. I was there in 66-67. Wish we had talked.
