My sympathy goes out to Fred's entire family. My memories include many fond moments as a member of the Boy's Club while Fred was a staff member. He taught us many lessons on how to have fun and how to treat all people with equal respect.

I will always have fond memories of 7th grade at Boone School--our science fairs, our school newspaper, trips with our class to Starved Rock.

To the Rosengarden Family,
Fred Rosengarden was my 7th grade teacher in 1959. He was the first teacher to treat his students with respect and humor and as people with feelings. He was innovative in his teaching methods and to this day I still have fond memories of his class. Not to mention that I will never forget how the sewerage system works or those field trips to Starved Rock and to Galena, especially the river cruise!!! He was my first teacher that allowed himself to be seen as "human". It is unfortunate there are not more teachers like him. The schools have lost a great asset and we have all lost a wonderful person.
