Dear Konrath family, Mr. Konrath was my math teacher for two years at Bogan. He left an indelible impression on all of us as his caring, patience, humor, and wit was the perfect formula for keeping us involved, enlightened and looking forward to his class. We were blessed to have him at Bogan. I can only imagine what a blessing he was to the Konrath family. Our prayers are with you all.

Aunt Joanne, Jonora, Johnny, Ellen, Kathy, Jimmy, Anne, Theresa, Jenny, Freddy, Karen & Kenny~
I Said a Prayer of Sympathy to the good Lord up above, To ask Him to console you and comfort you with love. I prayed for help to understand the wisdom of His ways, To trust that life is measured by love and not by days. I prayed He’d hold your loved one in the hollow of His hand, Filled with perfect peace and joy, according to His plan. Until that promised day when both of you will be Together in His warm embrace throughout eternity.

To the Konrath Family,
Mr Konrath was my freshman algebra teacher 1969/1970 at Bogan. He was the best Math teacher I ever had. He would ask over and over if everyone understood and would continue to teach (presented a different way each time) until everyone got it. I thought this was fantastic because as a Math lover I could see that as they understood it, they began to enjoy it too. He has always been in my thoughts which says a lot about him. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you heal from your loss.
Sincerely,
Mary Cusack

Mr. Konrath used to tell us that he had 10 children because mathematicians multiply. He was funny, smart, kind, and one of my favorite and most memorable teachers. I now add and subtract for a living (accounting) I extend my deepest sympathy to the whole family.

To all the Konrath's,
I was shocked to hear of your Dad's (husband's) passing. I was fortunate to see Fred, Joanne, & Ellen 3 yrs. ago at the house in Lake Geneva. And he still had that great sense of humor! Memories - wow. Wiffle ball games in the yard, monopoly and "spoons" on cold & rainy days, watching the Cubs play ball, nonstop laughs and that special smile he always had. He's in a better place now watching over all of you. Continue to make him proud by staying strong through this difficult time.
My sympathy to all of you

What made Mr. Konrath admired by so many of his students, family, and fellow faculty members? Why is it that I can’t remember 10% of my High School teachers, but I’ll always remember Mr. Konrath? Some people have a natural ability to help kids learn and develop. Mr. Konrath was one of them. His personality transcended the teacher/student relationship, and reminded us all that kids are not just numbers in the Chicago public school system, they’re students with hopes and dreams and enthusiasm for a bright future. They’re also sometimes scared and nervous, and need teachers that can understand their plight. Mr. Konrath knew this, and always had a kind word when you needed it. He had such a rare and wonderful gift to share.
I had the pleasure and honor of being in his home room for four years, and can truly say that through all the trials and tribulations of High School, Mr. Konrath was always a friendly face to come “home” to.
R.I.P. Mr. Konrath, and love to all.

To the Family and friends of Fred,
My deepest condolences go out to all. I haven't seen Fred for years, but from 1971 to 1975, he was my Division 516 teacher at Bogan H.S., and had me take attendence every day and walk it down to the office. He was a true professional at his job, but would sometimes talk to us about his huge loving family. I guess being a "guy", I didn't really love the "school" part of school as much as the "fun" part of school, but Fred got me through just fine. Being the very caring Division teacher that he was, he helped me out with any school issues when I needed it. He was the type of person that you occasionally just think about, because he left that type of GOOD impression in my life. Definitely a good example of how most people in this world SHOULD be, he will surely be missed. God bless!

Konrath's,
I am so sad to have left so many years to have seen my Godfather, how time slips away. It was just a few months ago I thought of going to see the family in Lake Geneva. What fond memories of the days we all played together at the house on Leavitt and all my parents xmas parties. It was so great to see everyone again. My deepest sympathies and one day lets all get together again like old times!

Fred, Ellen and the Konrath Family,
Our heart, prayers and sympathies go out to all of you at this time. Bob got a chance to get by and extend condolences on Friday. I was still at work and unfortunately did not get home until after 9:00pm. When I got home, we talked at length about what a great man, father and educator Mr. Konrath was. We have fond memories of a barbeque held in the Konrath family yard. The Bogan swimmers (who Bob loves til this day) were part of this event. I remember observing the love, the sense of family and the sincere affection Mr. Konrath displayed toward his wife and children. This was so touching and emotional to me. You don't see this much today. You all were BLESSED to have him and he was equally BLESSED to have all of you. What a great legacy he has left you. Also, remember TIME AND MEMORIES are great HEALERS.
Stay encouraged.

It was a great honor to have known Fred, as he shared his family, his home and celebrations with his New York cousins. We will always remember his intellect, warmth and fun-loving ways, the Freds against the Kens ball games in his yard, cooking Austrian bean soup, pig roasts and elaborate wedding celebrations, as well as his salty dogs. He was more like a brother to Ken and me. We will never forget Fred.

Dear Family & Friends of Mr. Konrath:
I’m very sorry to hear of your loss. I can truly say that Mr. Konrath was my most memorable math teacher in Bogan High (Class of 1985).
I believe that my classmates from ’85 would agree that Mr. Konrath was more than just an educator that could teach effectively. I remember those times he would take off his glasses, lean over the podium, and stare at me and the other students. He would then give us a closing lecture that was filled with encouragement and enthusiasm which inspired us to do our very best. Although his class occupied a relatively short chapter in my life, his lectures and teachings will last me a lifetime! I thank him and his family for that too.
Mr. Konrath will be missed dearly by many, and I’m certain he will be as happy in his new life as he was in this one.

Dear family of Mr. Konrath,
I am very sorry for your loss. I was blessed to have Mr. Konrath as my math teacher at Bogan [class of '86]. He was a rare and amazing teacher, and a wonderful, pleasant person. He was very much loved by his students. If you were in his class, you knew that he really wanted you to learn what he was teaching. He looked every student in the eye, and made sure that everyone 'got it'. Knowing how much he truly cared always inspired us to work harder.
I am sure he will be blessed for all the good things he did for his students.
May his memory be eternal.
