I was so sad to hear of Uncle Cheech's death. He was truly one of my favorite people, and I have always and will always cherish the memories I have of growing up with him as a part of my family. As a child, I loved having such a colorful character for my uncle. As an adult, I learned to truly respect and admire him for all the hardships, both social and personal, that he had endured throughout life, that made him who he was. I am sad that he is gone, but glad that he did not suffer a long and painful dying. May he rest in peace, and bask in the light of the Lord, in the fullness of the love he shared with family and friends in this world and the next. I hope he and Lill, Eddie and Julie are enjoying the reunion! Much love and condolences to all of the Scalise family, so far away. I am sending this from Puerto Rico, but will be back in Savannah on 4/18. Love to all...and sincere sympathy from Del and Mike and family
