Frank Laverty Obituary

Laverty, Frank J. age 66 of Chesterton, IN, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away December 5, 2006 at his home. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 219-926-1330. He was born November 29, 1940 in Chicago, IL to Francis and Margaregt Laverty, who preceded, also preceded by his first wife Janice Kay Laverty and a sister Margaret Selimoski, survivors include his wife Linnea Weaver Laverty whom he married on December 19, 2004 in Beverly Shores, IN, sons, Michael (Kristine) Laverty of Addison, IL, Daniel Doolin of Chesterton, IN and James (Kristin) Laverty of Chicago, IL, three grandchildren: Matthew, Nicholas and Lauren and niece Peggy Selimoski. Frank was a retired homocide detective for the Chicago Police Department, was also a lawyer in private practice, a legal consultant and an expert witness. Mr. Laverty was a member of the Illinois Bar Association. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. www.funeral.com

To the family of Frank. He was my best friend in person and in absence. I shall always hold in the fondest memories our time as police partners in beat 923 with Bill Mosher and our family parties with his beauful wife Jan and the boys.
