The best Fire Marshal and OFI Investigator that I have ever known. He is truly missed. Rest easy Pat and watch them words in Heaven.

I was saddened to hear of Pat's passing. I will always remember Pat's stories when he came to Louisville. My young son had the good luck to meet Pat on one of those trips and Pat wrote a note to him saying that he hoped to see my son on the fire department one day. Because of that note (which my son has framed on his wall) he has joined the fire department. We all will miss this great man. Our prayers are with your family at this time. May God Bless you.

It is with deep sadness that I learned today of Pat's passing. He was and always will be one of my mentors and heroes. On his visits to Louisville he always had a smile on his face and kept us entertained with his wit and wisdom. He was never shy about telling us how to do the job he loved so much. The world will be a lesser place without Pat. My love and respects to the entire Burns family.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I had the good fortune to work with Pat on several fire investigations. I appreciated the knowledge he shared. He always seemed to carry "sunshine" with him. I'm sure heaven is a little brighter today.

To the Burns Family. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember the good times on Columbus and when you lived in Oswego (I think it was Oswego). I use to be so confused as a little girl as to why Pat's name was Pat and his wife's name was Mike. I always thought he should be called Mike and she should be called Pat. Pat and Mike would laugh. My prayers are with all of you. Love Betty (Heinrich)

I just heard about a week ago that Pat was sick. I saw the obit this a.m. and I thought what a waste. I worked with Pat in OFI and he taught me many things. I am grateful to him and his old partner Nick. Together they were a great team.
