Frances STOTTLEMYER Obituary

STOTTLEMYER, Frances L. "Pete" Age 87 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Forest Glen Health Campus. She was born on January 17, 1930 in South Vienna, Clark County, to the late Grace (Fitzgiven) and William Michael Crabill. She graduated in 1948 from Springfield High School. After graduation, she worked at Springfield News Sun. Pete married Dana J. Stottlemyer on August 20, 1948, and they moved to Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, where they were blessed with their first child, Michael. Pete and Dana moved back to Springfield in December 1953, and purchased a patent drug store on South Limestone Street, naming it "It Sundries" in 1954. They purchased a second drug store on South Yellow Springs Street, also in Springfield. Pete worked at It Sundries for five years, until they decided to sell and she became a full-time homemaker. On January 6, 1957, Frances gave birth to their daughter, Karen. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dana Stottlemyer and her son-in-law, Ronald Lebaroff. Survived by her son, Michael and Deb Stottlemyer; her daughter, Karen (Terry) Stottlemyer Lebaroff Gwinn; grandchildren: Kylie Lebaroff, Nikki (Trent) Hacker and Ashley Stottlemyer; great-grandchildren: Riley, Luke, and Reed; a sister-in-law, Betty Mougey as well as many special friends, nieces, nephews and cousins. Pete was a member of Pitchin United Methodist Church who loved to travel and play cards. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center from 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. with her funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Paul Price officiating. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family would like to thank the staff at Forest Glen Health Campus for their compassionate care of Pete. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to be made to Pitchin United Methodist Church in Pete's memory.
