Scala, Florence C. 88 years, of Chicago, who passed away August 28th, 2007, Life-long resident of Taylor Street on the Near West Side. Daughter of the late Alex and Theresa Giovangelo, dear wife of the late Charles "Chick", fond sister of the late Ernie (late Rose) and the late Mario, beloved aunt of Rev. Steven Giovangelo (of Indianopolis) and Terese Wyatt (of Los Angeles). Inurnment private at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL. Memorial Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, Saturday, October 20th, 10:30 a.m., Please send donations to Holy Family Church Memorial Fund, 1080 W. Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL, 60608. My family lived at 1032 w Taylor St next door to Florence also 2nd fl rear.

I did not know her personally but Florence was a brave lady who took a stand against the political machine to preserve her beliefs and her neighborhood. God rest her soul. RMJ 1964.
