My dear Grandma, Oh how your heart has longed to be in the arms of Erwin and to rekindle those memories that were so elusive these past several years. It must feel so very sweet to have Him wipe away your tears and restore to you your former Glory. One thing is so certain, you were never ever forgotten. Not by me, not by anyone lucky enough to meet you. My life is so meaningfull, and so rewarding because I took to heart all those stories and lessons you and Grandpa shared. It's no coincidence that I remember receiving my first really big Easter basket from you both, nor my first giant Tonka truck and Lionel train at Christmas, my best Sunday suit, clothes and watch. It was you that smiled at giving me and my wonderful cousins our first cup of coffee, (yes Tracey, I remember too). My first jet plane ride, first trip to a museum, the Chicago Zoo and first elevated train ride to Skokie. You somehow made it to every big moment in my life and I am certain that all the grandkids can say the same. The lesson herein is you lived big, Really Big. I live to make an impact in this world with my Lord, My children and my friends, because you impacted me so deeply. Your love and belief in me as a youth filled a void that unfortunately I and my family must bear once more. Yet I shall not linger here in tears too long, for that would be selfish of me. Today is about you, not about us. We celebrate your life and so does our God. He truly used you as an example of how to live life full, to find the good in others when we could not find it in ourselves. I shall miss you in this world for a short while longer, but we shall meet up again soon. You and "I.Z." always said "Christopher, keep you head up high, shoulders straight and walk proud", much like you two did down Michigan Avenue greeting seemingly the whole city as friends. Well forgive me this once long moment, for I am bearing this incredible burden of My dear Mother Sandra's pain as she weeps for you, My sister Deborah's pain, Michelle's great loss as she so much looked up to you. My brother Todd and I will have to grow up just a bit taller today, yet not be ashamed to cry before our wives and our kids just this once. Have a safe flight in to Home.... I love you so much Grandma and again Thank You for being there. Love, Christopher Michael
