I am so sad to hear the news that Mr. Fermin G. Adames passed away this year. All of my family LOVED the entire Adames Family. As children we grew up with the Adames Family and lived on the same street. We did a lot with Maquis and Fermin Jr., they were a Brother and Sister to us, we enjoyed so many things like kickball, skateboards, swimming, hunting, fishing, rollerskating, football, 4th of July Fireworks (That was one heck of a 4th of July, we had so many FIREWORKS I thought we were going to blow up the entire block, oh it was so much fun!!!!.) And now a tear in my eye as I remember all the fun we had!!! VERY FOND MEMORIES!!! We all did so much together, we were great childhood friends. Later when my family moved to New York, Long Island and we all had to get ready to drive back to New York after visiting the Adames Family, it was a VERY SPECIAL MOMENT, that as we called him (Big Fermin) Mr. Fermin G. Adames, at that moment he came up with the idea that HE WOULD FLY US BACK TO NEW YORK LATER IN THE SUMMER so that the children could have more time to spend with each other. I was in shock at Mr. Fermin G. Adames EXTREME GENEROSITY that he would pay for Airline Tickets just so us children could have more time together. This is how Mr. Fermin G. Adames (Big Fermin) treated us!!!! Their Swimming Pool was "FUN" to swim in. I AM SO GLAD THE ADAMES FAMILY WERE OUR NEIGHBORS, WE ARE ALL BLESSED TO HAVE HAD EACH OTHER IN OUR LIFE, IT MADE LIFE BETTER ON ALL ACCOUNTS!!!! One time I got sick and they helped me get better, I will NEVER FORGET that as LONG AS I LIVE!!!! We showed each other the kind of LOVE that neighbors should!!!! Life was so much better knowing Mr. Fermin G. Adames (Big Fermin). He will be Missed and Always remembered FONDLY as A Loving Man that did his best, and DID make a BIG difference for the better in my life, and my Brother and Sister!!!! God Bless Us All, Amen. In Loving Memory, as you look down on us with LOVE from HEAVEN!!!!
May your Great Spirit of Joy, Compassion and Generosity carry on in all of us, Amen. YOU ARE GREATLY REMEMBERED AND MISSED, THANK YOU FOR BEING IN OUR LIFE!!!!

I feel sadness about his passing, but so much joy and happiness that I got to meet and be friends with such a beautiful person. Fermin had such a style and debonair attitude about him. He was a true gentleman who taught me to appreciate things in a different light. I consider him a great friend although we saw each other little and were miles apart. I will miss his sense of humor and laugh, but will always hold onto such great memories and life lessons he subtly taught me which will be with me forever.
I will miss you Fermin, brother and friend!

A sad day indeed to hear of such a loss not just for your family and everyone that knew Big Fermin, but truly, the world as it was a better place because of him - such a big personality with an incredibly kind heart. We had such great times with you guys out boating and the dinners in Greektown. Please know you are all in our thoughts and if there is anything at all we can do, we are here for you.
