Evelyn Doud Obituary

Doud, Evelyn Mae Age 96, went to her eternal home on May 23, 2017 after spending the last two years at Alden Poplar Creek in Hoffman Estates, IL. Prior to Alden, she resided in Roselle, IL. Earlier in life Evelyn and her beloved (late) husband, Robert "Bob", called Silver Lake, WI and Chicago, IL their home, where they raised their six children. Evelyn worked as a switchboard operator for companies such as Johnson Farebox Company and Illinois Bell before landing at Devon Bank, from where she retired. She loved to bowl and was a longtime member of the Saturday Night Bowling League at Howard Bowl, where she also served as Secretary. As Bob's health deteriorated, she devoted much of her time caring for him, but still made herself available to help whoever needed it. She loved the times when her whole family would be together at the house for holidays and special occasions. Family was very special to Evelyn. She was preceded in death by the two oldest children, Armond (Bonnie) Doud and Lorelei (Doug) Meyers. Evelyn is survived by her son, Alan (Eileen) Doud; daughters, Belita, Lynn and Yvette. She is also survived by many grandchildren, Debra (Donald) Caron, Shirley (Frederick) Bandaly, Scott (Nancy) Calderaro, Joseph Rock, Jerry (Peggy) Rock, Nicole Rock, Christi Doud, Mackey Doud, and Justin Doud; many great-grandchildren, Christopher Caron, Jacob Bandaly, Nicholas Bandaly, Cody (Kimberly) Rock, Jesse Calderaro, Alexis Calderaro, Lucas Rock and Emily Rock; and close friends who loved her and shared many special moments with her. There will be a private gathering for the family, and they send their deepest gratitude for your prayers.
