Eve Lukas Obituary

Lukas, Eve A. 94, of the Marquette Park neighborhood in Chicago; passed away on November 16, 2004, at Christ Hospital, Oak Lawn. She was born on June 28, 1910, to her loving parents, Walter and Anna, and was preceded in death by her brothers Michael and Richard, and her sisters, Alexandria, Estelle and Bernice. She is survived by her nephew Michael and his wife, Marjorie; her niece and goddaughter, Kathryn; her nephew, James; her grandnieces Jennifer, Kristen and Mary; and her grandnephew Michael. Eve worked for 40 years as an executive secretary at the Western Electric Company. She was a charter member and officer of the Pioneers, a social club at Western Electric. An avid stamp collector, she was a member and president of the Lithuanian Philatelic Society in Chicago. She was also active in the Women's Guild of the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture, the Lithuanian American Roman Catholic Women's Alliance, and the Knights of Lithuania. Visitation at Gaidas-Daimid Funeral Home, 4330 S. California 773-523-0440, 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 19. Service Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 20, at Nativity B.V.M. Church, 6812 S. Washtenaw. Interment at St. Casimir Lithuanian National Cemetery.
